This weekend, while out in Las Vegas for a work conference, Paramount BJJ blue belt Ray Hawkins entered the IBJJF Las Vegas Open. This was Ray’s very first tournament at blue belt, which is quite a step up from white belt competition.
Because there was no one in his weight class, Ray entered the Absolute (all weights) division where he would compete against the best athletes from the other divisions. In his semi-final match Ray passed the opponent’s guard to win 3-0, and in the final he did the same, once again winning 3-0.
